Doulas

What are doulas?
Doulas are people who are trained to provide support services to moms during pregnancy, the entire labor / birthing experience and postpartum. They are trained to support parent-infant attachment, and a positive birthing experience. They provide nutritional, prenatal and birth education and support. Moms who have used doulas report increased satisfaction with their birth experiences, breastfeeding, enhanced bonding with baby, a decrease in the use of pain medication throughout labor and delivery and decrease in the number of c-sections.
